Our Services

  • At Gray Matter Behavioral Health, we aim to provide you the tools to manage your mental health and emotional concerns from a holistic perspective. Medications are often part of an effective treatment plan coupled with individual therapy and changes to your diet, exercise, and sleep. We aim to prescribe medications in ways that help manage your symptoms while increasing your level of functioning.

We use medications to treat a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, and difficulty concentrating. We also prescribe medications that can assist you to maintain sobriety from drugs and alcohol. Your prescribing clinician will collaborate with you to create a personalized medication treatment plan based on your specific situation. You should always feel encouraged to ask questions and clarify anything that you don’t fully understand.

  • We are not currently accepting patients for individual therapy.

Decades of research has shown that therapy can improve emotions and behaviors, and it has been found to be associated with positive changes in the brain and body. There are a variety of evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Supportive Therapy. The choice of therapy type depends on your specific goals, circumstance, preference, and symptoms. Therapists often combine elements from different approaches to best meet your needs in treatment.

To help you get the most out of therapy, approach it as a collaborative effort. The relationship with your therapist will evolve over time as you each get to know each other better. Eventually, you should feel a sense of trust and security so that you can work through difficult emotions, behaviors, and memories. Although you will likely have individual goals for treatment, a major objective of therapy for most people is to improve emotional wellbeing and behavioral functioning. We suggest that you aim to be honest, open to experiencing a range of emotions, and receptive to feedback. We also recommend that you follow your agreed upon plan for treatment, including any assignments between sessions, such as writing in a journal or practicing what you’ve talked about with your therapist.
